Tenure track position in Electronics
The Faculty of Computing and Electrical Engineering at Tampere University of Technology invites applications for tenure track position in the field of electronics. The position is located in the Department of Electronics, Tampere University of Technology. (

Electronics research field covers areas of radio frequency (RF) technology, electronics materials and manufacturing and personal electronics. The department has a modern, forward-looking research agenda that is both scientifically ambitious and industrially relevant and well aligned with the general research strategy of the University. The research agenda combines elements of science and technology in innovative ways and is open to new initiatives. The department maintains close ties with industry and the broader society.

Tampere University of Technology has introduced a new tenure track system as part of its academic career structure. The tenure track is open to talented individuals who hold a doctoral degree in natural sciences, engineering or equivalent fields and have the potential to pursue a successful scientific career. Based on their experience and competence, the successful candidates will be placed at one of the levels of the tenure track system. Appointments at the level of Assistant Professor and Associate Professor are made on a fixed term basis. Based on their overall merits, Associate Professors may progress to the final level of the tenure track and achieve the rank of Full Professor.
A person at any level of the academic tenure track system is expected to pursue and supervise scientific research, seek external funding, provide academic education, participate in the activities of the international scientific community and interact with society. Career advancement along the tenure track is based on regular performance assessments that measure the candidate’s accomplishments in all these areas.

The department is looking for excellent candidates who are dedicated to pursuing leading-edge fundamental or applied research. The present call for applications covers all areas that fall within the scope of Electronics Research field of Department of Electronics. Special consideration will be given to candidates who represent research fields that complement and support the current research interests of the department. In addition, Department of Electronics has significant funding base from external sources, such as Academy of Finland and Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (TEKES), and therefore the applicants should have skills and potential to productively communicate with funding agencies and industrial companies. Department of Electronics has wide international collaboration network and the applicants are expected to show factual examples of productive international collaboration they have carried out.

1. Resume and/or Curriculum Vitae
2. Research portfolio (including list of publications and research plan) assembled according to TUT's instructions
3. Teaching portfolio assembled according to TUT's instructions
4. Academic Leadership and Activity in Scientific Community portfolio assembled according to TUT's instructions
5. Significant publications and other works relevant to the position (max. 10) and a list of these (list of significant publications should also include a list of publications which have been cited at least 20 times)
In addition, the applicants should include their H-factor based on Scopus.
Candidates may also enclose letters of recommendation with the application.
A single submission of an application will be followed by a two-step review evaluation. The first step of evalualuation is based on : CV, publication list and research plan.
